Dior Lip Glow or Lip Glow Pomade?

Love, Catherine | Dior Lip Glow or Lip Glow Pomade?

Love, Catherine | Dior Lip Glow or Lip Glow Pomade?

Love, Catherine | Dior Lip Glow or Lip Glow Pomade?

My love for Dior's famous Lip Glow won't come as any giant revelation as I feature it enough over on my Instagram (sorry not sorry). Not only is the gorgeous transparent pink and silver packaging so pretty and perfect, but the product itself is beautiful. It's a creamy lip balm with a lovely silky texture that feels like heaven on the lips, and is just what I like in a balm, thick but not too much that it's heavy or sticky. Once applied it reacts to the PH levels of your lips which adjusts to your own shade of pink, on me it goes a lovely rosey pink shade. It's perfect for 'no makeup' days when your lips need that boost of moisture and you want to fake a bit of colour whilst still looking totally natural. I would 100% recommend the splurge if you've been eyeing it up, it's a beaut of a product!

Dior has since expanded on the Lip Glow range to include different shades and a lip liner but it was the Lip Glow Pomade which caught my attention. But how does it compare to the Lip Glow? First up, the packaging...oh my. It is a dream. The milky pink tube with the silver foiled Dior branding is enough to make you need it already. It still has a lovely, creamy, balm-like texture but it is more oil based than wax, so it's a bit slippier and more gloss like than the original. Whilst I still love the formula, I'd favour the Lip Glow texture over the Pomade, even though both are quite similar.

What lets it down for me is the colour...I mean, severe lack of. As previously stated the original adjusts to your own lips, creating a natural just bitten pink shade. Where the Pomade is concerned, I don't notice any change in colour whatsoever, that for me it might as well be a clear lip gloss/balm. Which is great if you're after that kind of thing, but obviously when it's marketed as a colour reviver, like it's sister product, you do expect it.

I'd still reach for the Pomade and I'm glad I have it in my collection. mainly because I'm a fool for pretty packaging. But do you need it? Maybe if you're a makeup fanatic and a Dior lover, but if you're deliberating over both, I'd stick with the Lip Glow.

Have you tried any of Dior's Lip Glow range?

What's In My Bag? | My Handbag Essentials

Love, Catherine | My Handbag Essentials

Since nabbing myself the most beautiful  Kate Spade bag (that I'd been lusting after for eveeer) in the sale last month, it's inspired me to write a What's In My Bag type of post! I'll show you some of the items that have been hitching a ride in my new handbag, but don't worry I'll save you from the horror of screwed up receipts and empty chewing gum packets...

Love, Catherine | My Handbag Essentials

You're probably well aware by now of my love for this  Charlotte Tilbury Powder. It's honestly just the best powder I've ever used, it keeps my makeup in place, shine at bay and looks flawless with every retouch. The brush I love using to apply it with is the  Luxie 520 Tapered Face BrushIt's my favourite for powder so I always keep it in my bag for touch ups during the day. I find it's the perfect size for applying powder and it picks up just the right amount, plus it's super soft and it's pink..need I say more?!

Love, Catherine | Laduree Macaron Keyring

My pretty pink Ted Baker Purse has fared me well since I received it for Christmas in 2015. I'm actually really surprised at how pristine it still looks, as my Topshop and Accesorize purses would get grubby and tatty within a couple months of use. It just goes to show that sometimes it really is worth it to pay extra, I once heard someone say that if you buy cheap you buy twice. I don't think you can get this exact purse anymore so I've linked a similar version which I'm secretly lusting after...I've also got my gorgeous macaron Laduree Keycharm in my bag which I use to keep my keys on, but it would also look lovely as a bag charm!

Love, Catherine | Charlotte Tilbury Valentine Lipstick

I usually end up with hoards of different lipsticks hanging around in my bag, but not at the moment. Since purchasing the new Charlotte Tilbury Valentine Lipstick I've hardly reached for anything different! It's a gorgeous soft, petal pink and I've written a full review here.

Love, Catherine | My Handbag Essentials

I was recently gifted these lovely wireless earphones* from the Sudio brand, and they are probably definitely the prettiest pair of earphones I've ever owned. The soft pink and gold design looks so beautiful and I love that they come with a cute matching pink pouch to store them in, so at least they won't be at the bottom of my bag knotting themselves ten times over! You can use the code 'Cath15' to grab yourself 15% off if you fancy it.

I've also been trying to drink more water (I swear that's such a cliche goal lol) and when I spotted this adorable Ted Baker Water Bottle with pink rubber casing adorned with little bows, I had to get it! It has a 360ml capacity, which isn't massive but it does mean it's slim enough to be a great handbag size, so it won't weigh it down too much.

Love, Catherine | Lanolips 101 Ointment

This cute little Zoella Makeup Pouch has been a firm staple in every handbag I've had since I bought it. It's so perfect for popping into your bag and storing lots of bits and bobs in. I love it to keep my everyday makeup products in like powder, lipstick and lip balm, and also hair pins and hair ties. How adorable is the powder blue, scalloped design!

I've been loving the Lanolips 101 Ointment at the moment and it makes for a great handbag essential as you can use it in multiple different ways, a little like Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream. So not only is it great as a lip balm but you can also use it to heal minor cuts, soothe cuticles, treat eczema etc. It has a thick, balmy texture which I personally love, I dislike those slippy, Vaseline type textures. I have the same product in the Strawberry version which I've also been loving!

What are your handbag essentials?

Blush Pink & Cream Lust List

Love, Catherine | Blush Pink & Cream Lust List

I'm not usually a huge Pandora lover, but since seeing the new Valentine's Day charms on Freddyhere) I'm completely heart eyed and now I'm totally lusting after a bracelet to fill with all the pretty pink heart shaped charms. I've got my eye on a few new Ted Baker items too, especially this gorgeous  floral umbrella and  dreamy card holder which would go perfectly with my pink Ted Baker bow bag. I'm loving the pretty ruffle trend at the moment, it's so dainty and girly, and this  River Island top is the prettiest along with this beautiful  silky pleated midi skirt. Also, how adorable is this  tulle garland?! It would make such a pretty blog photography prop.

River Island |  Mesh Frill Layer Lace Top
Pandora |  Cherry Blossom Clip
Ted Baker |  Micro Bow Card Holder
Ted Baker |  Pink Window Box Umbrella
Talking Tables |  Tulle Garland
Ted Baker |  Rose Notebook And Pen

Which items do you think I should splurge on?

Four Champagne Pinks You Need To Try

Four Champagne Pinks To Try | Urban Decay Sin Eyeshadow

Four Champagne Pinks To Try | Benefit R.S.V.P Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow

Four Champagne Pinks To Try | Laura Geller Charming Pink Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator

Four Champagne Pinks To Try | Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Satin Sheets

Love, Catherine | Four Champagne Pinks To Try, Swatches

You only need to take a quick glance at my content to be well aware that I'm a self-confessed baby pink addict. So it'll probably come as no surprise when I tell you that I pretty much live in champagne pink eyeshadow shades, I find they really make my eyes pop against my fair skin, and look gorgeous with winged liner. I'll pair it with a soft brown or pale mauve in the crease and that's basically my everyday look done. You know when you find a makeup style that just suits you, so you almost never stray from it 'cos everything else looks strange? Yup that's me. So here are my top four, all time favourite, shimmery champagne pinks!

Benefit | R.S.V.P
This Creaseless Cream Shadow is probably the truest champagne pink shade out of the four. It's a gorgeous pink with a frosty finish. I'm not usually a huge fan of cream shadows, but I just love how this one applies effortlessly, it lasts well on the lid and has a lovely velvety texture. It also makes a great base for other shimmery shades to intensify them. Mine is actually super old now, it was one of the first high end eyeshadow products that I had and I've loved it ever since. Should probably treat myself to an update though...

Too Faced | Satin Sheets
Satin Sheets is a dreamy, shimmery pink with a stunning rose gold undertone. It's the first shade I gravitated towards in my Chocolate Bon Bons palette, but it also makes an appearance in the Boudoir Eyes palette too. It has great pigmentation and is a really lovely shade that I think would compliment many different skintones.

Urban Decay | Sin
Back when I owned my first Naked palette, this one was my favourite shade, so much so that I used up the entire shadow without touching many of the other colours. So instead of purchasing the whole palette again, I added it to my collection in solo form. It's coming off a little bit bronze in the swatch, but I promise it's not, it's a silky beige, ballet pink which is the most wearable shade of the lot. It's perfect if you don't want to look to silvery or overdone.

Laura Geller | Charming Pink
I've saved my favourite for last because ohhh my it's a beaut! It's actually a Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator, which looks stunning as a highlight (just trust me) and is one of my most used alongside Becca Moonstone. But I've also fallen for it as an eyeshadow too, don't you just love multi-use products? It's the prettiest, pearly pink and looks gorgeous when applied with a bit of MAC Fix +, which I'd recommend for all of the shades to intensify the colour and shimmer. It's a princessy dream.

Which champagne pink shades would you recommend?

Wait, what?! Two huge, well-adored makeup brands collaborated to make their own limited edition collection? I don't know about you but I've never heard of such a thing happening in the makeup world before, but I bloody love it. The pretty, pink and girly style from Too Faced mixed with the more edgy vibes of Kat Von D make for such an exciting collaboration. It probably won't come as any shocking revelation as it's been out since December, but for all of you UK lovelies, breathe a sigh of relief as you can finally get a hold of it in Debenhams

The Better Together collection's star product is the most adorably designed Magnetic Heart Palette. I love that each half of the heart opens to make its own little heart! In this set you do also get a full size Better Than Sex mascara as well as a full size Tattoo Liner (which is incredible btw). I think it's an amazing concept if you love both brands and like to have options from different sides of the makeup spectrum.

In addition to the main heart shaped event, comes the Cheek & Lip Set which comes in a cute (and also heart shaped) double-sided makeup pouch. A pink glittery Too Faced side and a matt black Kat Von D side, each featuring cute illustrations of the brand owners pets. Inside you get four deluxe mini cheek and lip products from both brands, three of which are new, exclusive shades. The mini Candlelight highlight is just the cutest thing ever!

As well as all of this, you can also get your hands on a duo containing two Bestselling Mini's: a Better Than Sex mascara from Too Faced and of course the Tattoo Liner from Kat Von D. It's a really great deal if you've been eyeing up either product!

Charlotte Tilbury Valentine Lipstick | Do You Need It?

Love, Catherine | Charlotte Tilbury Valentine Lipstick

Love, Catherine | Charlotte Tilbury Valentine Lipstick

Love, Catherine | Charlotte Tilbury Valentine Lipstick

Love, Catherine | Charlotte Tilbury Valentine Lipstick Swatch

Love, Catherine | Charlotte Tilbury Kim K.W & Valentine Lipsticks

Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick Swatches | Pillow Talk, Kim K.W & Valentine

When Charlotte Tilbury announces two new, limited edition Spring lipsticks, you know that the makeup community will pretty much be head over heels for it. Whilst the majority have been heart-eyed over the new Pillow Talk lipstick, which matches the already cult lip liner, I fell for the romantic pink vibes of Valentine.

It's a beautiful, soft, petal pink shade which is really pretty and feminine, and totally wearable. The swatches make it look a little rosier than it translates on the lips, where it sits a little milkier. The CT website has a great photo comparison of the lipstick on many different skin tones, which is so helpful if you're undecided (take a peek here). I adore the formula of Charlotte's K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipsticks which feel lovely and creamy, have great pigmentation and give a slight glossy finish whilst still be fairly long wearing. It's such a dreamy shade and I feel like I should sprout Victoria's Secret wings and sit in a bed of fluffy white clouds whilst wearing this (lol).

I thought it would be helpful to compare it to two other similar CT lip products that I own,  Kim K.W lipstick and  Pillow Talk lip liner. You can see that it's quite similar to Kim K.W but much more pink than peach. and it is a lot lighter than Pillow Talk, which does run quite a dark rosey shade on my fair skin. I almost wish I'd thought to swatch it next to MAC Creme Cup as I think they are very similar in colour, with Creme Cup being a little milkier and sheerer. Even though I'm always drawn to this type of lipstick shade, I still feel like I've got something a little different to any other colours I own (they're all different okay ssh!).

So the answer to my title is a blatant, ridiculously obvious, YES girl you need this. Catch it whilst you can!

Better Than Sex Mascara | Too Faced X Skinnydip

Melted Chocolate Lipstick | Too Faced X Skinnydip

If there ever were two brands that would be perfect to collaborate together, it would totally be Too Faced and Skinnydip. So when this dream collection popped through my mail box I was on cloud nine. The whole cutesy, girly vibe from Too Faced paired with the playful attitude from Skinnydip, just makes for such an exciting collection.

It's described as a  Love, Lashes and Chocolate collection*, which features an exclusive sparkly Skinnydip makeup bag adorned with girly pink bows and hearts, and doodles of the Too Faced brand. It's a perfect collectors item if you're a fan of either brand and it certainly lives up to the TF 'Own Your Pretty' motto.

Inside the makeup bag is a selection of four well-loved products, including the best selling Chocolate Bar palette and Better Than Sex mascara. With it's £92 value, the collection retails for just £50, which is a total steal considering just the palette alone is worth £39. It's available exclusively on the  Too Faced website (which ships to the UK!) from February 6th - 9th 2017, so don't hang about if if takes your fancy!

Full collection contains:

What do you think of this adorable collaboration?

The Valentine's Edit

Love, Catherine | The Valentine's Edit

Love, Catherine | The Valentine's Edit

Thomas Sabo Pearl Bracelet & Rose Quartz Heart Charm

I thought I'd pop together a list of favourite products that would be perfect either as Valentine's gifts or products to treat yo'self with (we've all been there). You can't go wrong with rose scents, pearls and hearts!

Diptyque |  Roses Candle
The ultimate girly candle, anything rose scented and I'm all over it. There's nothing more relaxing than a candlelit room and the scent of your favourite candle burning. Plus, don't the Diptyque candles look so elegant on your bedside table or vanity!

Thomas Sabo |  Pearl Bracelet with  Rose Quartz Heart Charm*
I'm so smitten with this gorgeous freshwater pearl bracelet that the lovelies at  Mococo kindly gifted me. I actually received a very similar bracelet from my Mum as a Graduation present and I sadly lost it, so I'm overjoyed to have a replacement. Sentimental gifts are the best aren't they? This one makes for a lovely gift, especially if you pick a meaningful charm, and at the same time it's not ~too~ expensive that it will make your eyes water if you splurge on it yourself. High five to dry eyes on Valentine's. The  Rose Quartz Heart Charm is so pretty and elegant and is currently on offer so nab it whilst you can! I've also got my eye on the  Silver Bow Pearl Charm, which is the charm I had on my old bracelet before I lost it, and these two bow charms  here and  here. Also, how pretty is this  Rose Quartz Pearl bracelet?! A perfect match for the charm I have.

Chloe |  Perfume
A classic girly perfume and my all time favourite. Now I'm not talking girly as in sugary sickly sweet, but feminine, fresh and floral. It's elegant yet young, and has a gorgeous soft rose scent. It's heaven and I've sung it's praises too many times as I've been through so many bottles and the packaging is too cute.

Rose & Co. |  Hand Cream*
This rose scented hand cream from Rose & Co. has the loveliest soft texture which sinks in super fast but leaves your hands feeling baby soft. It's one that I was gifted by PR and I've since never been able to find it online! One that I find quite similar in both formulation and fragrance however is the more up market  Jurlique Rose Hand Cream, which is a beautiful product and one that I also get regular use out of.

What are your favourite Valentine's style products?

The Beauty Products I'm Lusting Over

Love, Catherine | Beauty Lust List

Now I know this is a Lust List post, but I maay have already splurged on Charlotte Tilbury's Valentine lipstick, but it was my only beauty purchase in January so I think I can be let of the hook, check me out being all restrained! It's the dreamiest soft pink shade and I'll be sure to pop a blog post up really soon. I am little gutted though that I didn't get my hands on the Dior and Lancome Spring releases, doesn't that rose highlight look insanely beautiful! I'm also really excited about By Terry's expansion on the Baume de Rose range, I already have the original  lip balm (review  here) and it's so lovely!

Smith & Cult |  Nail Laquer, Pillow Pie
Dior |  Diorskin Nude Air, Rising Pink (Spring 2017)
Mario Badescu |  Drying Lotion
Lancome |  La Rose Parisian Powder (Spring 2017)
Fairy Drops |  Scandal Queen Mascara

Have you tried any of these products?

January 2017 | Photo Diary

Love, Catherine | January Photo Diary

Yay, the worst month of everyone's year is officially over! Well I say that, but as January's go mine wasn't all that bad. In fact it was pretty awesome, despite the weather being damp, miserable and bascially ice cold.

Love, Catherine | Pretty Princess Castle Cake
Princess Castle Birthday Cake

It was my beautiful little niece's 4th birthday and it gave me the perfect opportunity to set my sights high and create up a magical, dream princess castle cake for her. It officially set the record for the longest time I've ever spent baking a cake, and it was so tall you can't even see the little flag on top of the tallest turret in the photo! But it was so worth it, all little girly girls deserve princessy things on their birthday! Plus it had pink, raspberry frosting inside which is my favourite!

Love, Catherine | Pink Ruffled Bedding
Pink Ruffled Princess Bedding

I came across this beautiful ruffled, blush pink bedding and thought it would go perfectly on my pretty white french bed. Not only was it from Argos of all places, but it was also in the clearance for about *drum roll please* £10! Ten. Great. British. Pounds. I know! It looks so beautiful, you'd never know.

Love, Catherine | 14 Trevor Square, Girliest Pink House!
The Girliest House Ever?!

Like I said on  Instagram, I'd totally love to tell you that I just casually strolled by this pretty, pink, girly dream house in Knightsbridge and snapped a photo in the moment, but no, I dragged my boyfriend (who was totally willing might I add) around London just to find it. Does that make me a total saddo? Probably, but hey, at least I'm keeping it real haha, blogger life. I feel sorry for the owner of the house, people must be constantly prancing about outside having photoshoots, whilst they're trying to drink their cuppa and watch TV. Although I'd like to imagine they're out elsewhere buying Chanel handbags and dining at Laduree...

Love, Catherine | Cream Tea At The Tea Terrace
Cream Tea at The Tea Terrace

I visited the prettiest little Tea Terrace at the top of House Of Fraser on Oxford Street, which has the girliest Parisian pastel pink, blue and white decor with luxe upholstered seating, and they serve everything on beautiful Royal Albert china. It looks like such a dream! I had white chocolate and cranberry scones with a chai tea, and my boyfriend went for a hot chocolate and gooey brownie. The service wasn't the greatest, but if you're only hoping for a pretty Instagram shot you won't be disappointed...

Love, Catherine | Kate Spade Pretty And Witty Candle
Kate Spade Pretty And Witty Candle

I'd had my eye on this beautiful little pink and white scented candle from Kate Spade for so long, and finally decided to buy it with some Christmas money I was given. It's so adorable and I love the little phrase written on the front 'pretty and witty make the perfect pair'. I don't know if I can bring myself to burn it just yet, but it would make a lovely makeup brush holder once I have!

Love, Catherine | Pretty Anniversary Celebration Cupcakes
Anniversary Cupcakes

I created these cute little 10 year anniversary cupcakes for my lovely friend Paige and her fiance, (her Instagram is a dreamy Yankee candle and bath bomb heaven! You should probably go and take a peek  here, just sayin'). I was so pleased with the outcome and I love how cute the little designs looked all together. My heart just melts for that mini champagne bottle though!

Love, Catherine | Cute Kitten Mug Hot Chocolate
Adorable Kitten Mug

As I was saying in my previous ASOS Haul post (read it here if ya missed it!) I have a blatant obsession with cute mugs, and I should probably check into mug rehab 'cos that's totally a thing. How could I resist this little kitty mug though, with the heart shaped nose, whiskers and pink ears?! Only £4 from Matalan FYI...

Love, Catherine | Charlotte Tilbury Makeup
Charlotte Tilbury Makeup

I recently received the best blogger mail of all time, gifting me none other than Charlotte ~fricken~ Tilbury makeup! To say I was ecstatic was an understatement. Firstly I screamed and freaked out, then I went into a little happy dance mode and then after about an hour I cried. Haha yep, award for the lamest blogger ever over here please and thank you! Her makeup range is like pure gold dust to me and I was so touched to have been gifted it. I've been using the Instant Look In A Palette alongside the new Quick 'N' Easy makeup kit (reviews  here and  here), and have been loving how fresh and glowy they look! They are just really great sets to have in your collection.
