My love for Dior's famous Lip Glow won't come as any giant revelation as I feature it enough over on my Instagram (sorry not sorry). Not only is the gorgeous transparent pink and silver packaging so pretty and perfect, but the product itself is beautiful. It's a creamy lip balm with a lovely silky texture that feels like heaven on the lips, and is just what I like in a balm, thick but not too much that it's heavy or sticky. Once applied it reacts to the PH levels of your lips which adjusts to your own shade of pink, on me it goes a lovely rosey pink shade. It's perfect for 'no makeup' days when your lips need that boost of moisture and you want to fake a bit of colour whilst still looking totally natural. I would 100% recommend the splurge if you've been eyeing it up, it's a beaut of a product!
Dior has since expanded on the Lip Glow range to include different shades and a lip liner but it was the Lip Glow Pomade which caught my attention. But how does it compare to the Lip Glow? First up, the packaging...oh my. It is a dream. The milky pink tube with the silver foiled Dior branding is enough to make you need it already. It still has a lovely, creamy, balm-like texture but it is more oil based than wax, so it's a bit slippier and more gloss like than the original. Whilst I still love the formula, I'd favour the Lip Glow texture over the Pomade, even though both are quite similar.
What lets it down for me is the colour...I mean, severe lack of. As previously stated the original adjusts to your own lips, creating a natural just bitten pink shade. Where the Pomade is concerned, I don't notice any change in colour whatsoever, that for me it might as well be a clear lip gloss/balm. Which is great if you're after that kind of thing, but obviously when it's marketed as a colour reviver, like it's sister product, you do expect it.
I'd still reach for the Pomade and I'm glad I have it in my collection. mainly because I'm a fool for pretty packaging. But do you need it? Maybe if you're a makeup fanatic and a Dior lover, but if you're deliberating over both, I'd stick with the Lip Glow.
Have you tried any of Dior's Lip Glow range?
