Oh look, another month has just flown by, how insane is that and yet very cliche of me to say. I'm not gonna lie but I'm so strangely excited for Christmas this year, that I may have spent the second half of October annoying my boyfriend with my cheery Christmas music playlist already, and I'm only a teeny bit sorry. I'm like Buddy The Elf on a candy cane sugar high, x1000, so now that it's November I can actually feel a little less guilty about it.
Oh and I also had a little blog header revamp, what do you think? But anyway, here's what happened throughout my not-so-spooky October...
Baby Arrival Cupcakes
Babies everywhere! I made these personalised Baby Arrival cupcakes a fair few times during October and I'm so smitten with the cute little designs I made. I think the tiny baby feet are too sweet, but my favourite has got to be the little milk bottle! Do make sure you check out my Cake Facebook page ( facebook.com/cakesbycatherinex) for lots of extra photos, and I would be your bff if you could help me out and give it a little like!
Fluffy Pink Bag
You know when you're in two minds about buying something, and it's the moment it disappears out of stock that you decide you actually don't want it, you need it. Yep, I turned into a right loser (like I wasn't already) re-checking the Missguided website until this cute little Pink Feather Clutch Bag came back in stock. I regrettedly never purchased any of them last year when River Island were selling similar fluffy bags in different pastel colours. I love the silky pink lining of this one though!
Pinterest is forever giving me amazing inspiration in basically every department possible and I love it when I come across pretty hairstyle tutorials! This cute little bow was actually so simple to create, you just take two sections of hair from either side of your head, tie them into a bun, split the bun in half and pin them down, so easy!
Floral Bunny Cake
Breast Cancer Awareness Month
If you didn't already know, October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month and to show support I got some pink goodies from Asda's Tickled Pink* range, including the deliciously scented Raspberry NSPA Bath products, a pink T-Shirt and some yummy Strawberry Cheesecake Oreos. It's definitely worth taking a look at the things they have available as it all goes towards an amazing cause!
Dior Rosy Glow Blush
Oh y'know, just an appreciation post for a blush that I've never used (awkward laughter). But seriously though, how beautiful is this Rosy Glow Blush with the Dior print dotted all over it?! It's so classy and pretty. I'm honestly going to have to force myself to use it sometime soon but I literally can't bring myself to ruin it yet, would you?
Becca Moonstone Shimmering Skin Perfector
Even though the majority of my Summer tan has faded, I'm still having to mix a bit of my darker foundation with my super pale usual shade to get the perfect colour match, and as a result I've retired my icy favourite, Anastasia Starlight Illuminator, for my Becca Moonstone highlighter which is a little warmer, softer and glowier. It gives the perfect, silky, candlelit glow and I fully remember why I used to be so obsessed with it.
