Three Autumnal Picks

Autumnal Picks | Lush Star Dust, The Library Of Fragrance Marshsmallow, H&M Powder Puff Lipstick

Autumnal Picks | Lush Star Dust, The Library Of Fragrance Marshmallow, H&M Powder Puff Lipstick
The Library Of Fragrance |  Marshmallow Cologne*

You may recall me featuring  The Library Of Fragrance, Pixie Dust perfume on a recent  wishlist of mine and to make that ~wish~ come true they only went and gifted it to me along with lots of their other faves too. It was just the nicest surprise ever, so do watch out for a full blog post soon! One that stood out to me for this season is Marshmallow, which if you hadn't guessed, smells exactly like delicious fluffy marshmallows! It makes me feel like I should be wrapped up and snuggled under a cosy blanket, toasting marshmallows in the fireplace!

Autumnal Picks | Lush Star Dust, The Library Of Fragrance Marshmallow, H&M Powder Puff Lipstick

As you might already now I've been obsessed with Mac's pretty pink Snob lipstick for months now (I kinda go on about it a lot, soz), but felt like it didn't quite look right once I got back from my holiday against my newly tanned face. So I opted for a nude instead and have found a renewed love for my Powder Puff lipstick from H&M. It's a really pretty nude shade with a slight hint of pink and the finish has a lovely sheen to it. Perfect for a more understated, fresh Autumn makeup look.

I shan't divulge too much about this one as I've not long posted a  Christmas Lush Haul where this little one does get a feature, so be sure to check that out if you missed it! It has a slightly musky yet sweet, creamy vanilla scent and lets out cute little multi-coloured sparkly stars into the water. It's so fitting for the start of the festive season! At £2.95 it's definitely on the more affordable side of Lush, and I may have already picked up another...

What are your Autumnal picks?

Lancome L'Absolu Rouge Lipstick Swatches| 122 Indecise & 318 Rose Rendez-Vous
When you open up a PR package to reveal not only two beautiful new lipsticks from  Lancome, but also some pretty delicious pink macarons, if that's not a good day I don't know what is!

Lancome have re-introduced 36 of their L'Absolu Rouge lipsticks now available in Sheer, Matte and Cream formulas, and packaged in a new sleek black and gold case with the signature rose logo detail placed on top. The design is so classy, and I love that you simply click the rose which pops open the lipstick tube, similar to the Chanel Rouge Allure lipsticks I believe.

The shades I have are  318 Rose Rendez-Vous which is a pretty vibrant pink in a cream formula and  122 Indecise, a sheer classic red. Both lipsticks are lovely and smooth to apply and feel luxuriously creamy on the lips, although I've not yet had a chance to test them out through the day (I'm writing this on the day I received them - keen!) although they did wipe off of my lips very easily, so I don't expect they'd be the most long lasting. Rose Rendez-Vous has a little bit of shimmer to it which goes perfectly with the vivid pink shade of the lipstick, and was a lot more pigmented that I expected. I did swatch Indecise a few times in the picture to show the true shade, it is quite sheer as the formula would suggest, but perfect for those that might be a little nervous to rock the bright red lipsticks. I think it looks really pretty and fresh looking!

What do you think?

Huge Christmas Lush Haul | 2016

Love, Catherine | Huge Christmas Lush Haul 2016

So I arrived back home after sunning it up in the heat on holiday for a week, and what did I buy online the minute I got back? A coat, a beauty advent calendar and the Lush Christmas products. If that doesn't scream Autumn then not much else will. Yep, we're officially into the colder months and I am so ready for all of the cosy nights and Lush-filled warm bubble baths. Clearly the five year old in me was just too excited for the festive items to be back and I had to make a little purchase.

Christmas Lush Haul 2016 | Magic Wand & The Magic Of Christmas Bubble Bar

Christmas Lush Haul 2016 | Magic Wand & The Magic Of Christmas Bubble Bar
Magic Wand | Reusable Bubble Bar

If I had to recommend one product you get from Lush this year it would be the Magic Wand, even if it's the only item you splurge on! Give it a little swish under your running bath water and it transforms your bath into sweet candy scented pink bubble heaven. And as it's reusable you do get a fair few uses out of it, mine usually lasts for about four baths, which is well worth the money.

The Magic Of Christmas | Reusable Bubble Bar

The only thing that comes to mind with this one is 'Christmas'. It has a warm cinnamon and mulled wine scent which basically smells like all of the Christmas festivities rolled into one cute sparkly star. It reminds me of the Christmas markets! How many times can I say Christmas in this description? Christmas.

Christmas Lush Haul 2016 | So White Bath Bomb
So White | Bath Bomb

A play on Snow White, the So White bath bomb is the fairest of them all. It's a gorgeous fresh scent like Yankee Candle Clean Cotton with a crisp green apple kick to it. I wish they'd release it as a permanent item as it's not a specifically Christmas scent and is one of those perfect all year round fragrances! Despite it's snowy appearance it turns the bath a fresh green shade as opposed to the rosy pink it used to be.

Christmas Lush Haul 2016 | Northern Lights Bath Bomb
Northern Lights | Bath Bomb

I was a little overexcited to see this bath bomb back on the shelves this year. I'd purchased it a couple of years ago and l.o.v.e.d it, yet it didn't seem to make an appearance in last years Winter collection. The scent is very clean and floral with extracts of Jasmine and Ylang Ylang, but the best part of this one is the amazing colours it turns the water. When you pop it into the bath it fizzes to reveal swirls of lilac, blue and yellow which look so vibrant and pretty. Definitely give this one a try if you love colourful baths.

Christmas Lush Haul 2016 | Snowcastle Soap
Snowcastle | Soap

Disappointed was an understatement when my Snowcastle soap arrived, and it well..wasn't shaped like an actual castle. Not quite the princessy vibes I'd hoped for but hey, at least I got some shimmer. The soap itself has a lovely creamy marzipan scent which I think smells really similar to the Snow Angel bath melt!

Christmas Lush Haul 2016 | Candy Mountain Bubble Bar
Candy Mountain | Bubble Bar

You just can't make a huge Christmas Lush order and not include Candy Mountain, it's like the rules of Christmas Lush buying. It has that same super sweet Snow Fairy fragrance and as you crumble it under warm running water it leaves the bath with clouds of shimmery pink bubbles and a dreamy candy floss scent.

Christmas Lush Haul 2016 | Star Dust Bath Bomb
Star Dust | Bath Bomb

I think this one has had a little revamp since last year and it apparently turns the water an uplifting sky blue and releases lots of cute little sparkly stars! It has a lovely creamy vanilla scent, similar to the Butterball.

Christmas Lush Haul 2016 | Mistletoe Bath Bomb
Mistletoe | Bath Bomb

The design of Mistletoe really reminds me of the Rose Bombshell bath bomb, and whilst it's not exactly rose scented, it does still have a floral fragrance of Jasmine that is quite musky and sultry. It turns the water a beautiful shade of pink and purple!

Christmas Lush Haul 2016 | Sugar Plum Fairy Lip Scrub
Sugar Plum Fairy | Lip Scrub

The last item I popped into my virtual basket was this Sugar Plum Fairy lip scrub, partially because I'm almost out of my Sara Happ scrub and partially because it's cute AF. A lip scrub is a daily essential for me and even more so in Winter to keep my pout polished and soft. Sugar Plum Fairy smells and tastes like sugary sweet blackcurrants and is instantly my favourite Lush lip scrub by far!

Day To Night Lashes | Ardell & Esqido

Day To Night Lashes | Ardell 318 Accent Lash & Esqido Lash Named Desire

Day To Night Lashes | Ardell 318 Accent Lash & Esqido Lash Named Desire

If someone told me a couple of years ago that I would become one of those girls who wears false lashes on the daily, I would have laughed at the very idea. Me and falsies used to equate to some wonky looking lashes, lash glue sticking my eyes shut and about an extra 30 minutes wasted.

Yet by some miracle I found the Fleur de Force, Fleur Loves Lashes, which are 3/4 length, and they completely changed my opinion. They're perfect for everyday wear as they add a bit of flutter to my lashes yet still look totally natural, I've have so many compliments on my lashes since wearing them! But believe it or not, they are so easy to apply as they're so dainty and they take me far less time than it would the usual three coats of mascara. Better looking lashes in less time?! I'm in.

So when I got the chance to try out the  Ardell 318 Accent Lash I jumped at the chance. They're really similar to the Fleur Loves set except a little shorter across the width, lovely for adding a bit of flutter and definition for everyday, but also perfect to add on top of another set of lashes for some extra drama in the evening! A pair of lashes they look especially great with are the  Esqido Lash Named Desire. They are a gorgeous set just on their own but look even prettier with the Ardell (or Fleur Loves) popped onto the outer corner for that added effect. Plus they also come packaged inside a beautiful white & rose gold box.

Just thought I'd note that I got both these lashes from who are definitely worth checking out if you are a falsie lover. They stock plenty of notable brands and have free delivery with no minimum spend, which let's face it, means you can then spend what you would have on delivery costs on another pair of lashes, right?! I know where I'll be buying my lashes from now on.

September 2016 | Photo Diary

Love, Catherine | September Photo Diary 2016

I am determined to not miss a single monthly Photo Diary for this entire year so now that I've returned from my weeks holiday (which you may know about if you follow me on  Instagram) it's time to post some of the highlights from September!

Love, Catherine | Baby Shower Cake
Baby Shower Cake

I got a little excited about creating a cake for my sister's baby shower as the theme gave me free reign to make it ultra cute. She doesn't know what sex the baby will be so I opted for a half pink, half blue design and made some adorable little sugar baby booties as the main decoration for the top, and some sweet alphabet blocks to go alongside them. It's one of my favourites I've made so far!

Love, Catherine | Zara Pink City Bag
Zara Pink City Bag

I had my eye on a similar pink bag from H&M for a little while but once I'd actually got around to purchasing it, it had typically sold out *sob*. So I instantly shopped around online to find a similar replacement and found this absolute beaut from Zara that I actually prefer so much more (silver linings and all that..) and it was only around £29.99 which is such a steal for a Zara bag!

Love, Catherine | Ice Cream Weather
Bye Bye Summer

Ironically I had my first ice cream cone right at the end of Summer! It was one of the last warm, sunny days which we just have to make the most of here in the UK and it basically screamed ice cream weather...and yes it totally did melt all down my hand whilst I was being a saddo trying to get a picture of it (first world probs).

Love, Catherine | Lace and Whimsy Planner Stickers
Gettin' My Plan On

I was sent some really cute stickers from the lovely Kathy at Lace and Whimsy who sketches the cutest little designs. I've scattered them across my planner and now I feel like one of those girls who needs stickers for every season, occasion and basically everyday.

Love, Catherine | Cow Themed Birthday Cake
Cow Themed Birthday Cake

A lovely customer asked for a cow themed birthday cake for her little grandaughter and this is what I came up with! I've become obsessed with creating cute things out of sugar paste and I loved the little cow I made for this one, a little on the chunky side but cute nonetheless haha. I also couldn't resist but to colour the vanilla sponge pink inside!

Love, Catherine | Too Faced Pink Makeup
Too Faced Makeup

Another appreciation post for Too Faced makeup?! I'm sorry!!! I cannot help myself when their products are this damn cute okay. Also, who else is in desperate need of their Christmas In New York collection? 'Cos I definitely am.

Love, Catherine | The White Company Pink Cashmere Socks
Feelin' Autumnal

On the 1st of September my cosy White Company cashmere socks and hot drinks came back out in full force. As sad as I am to see Summer disappear ( I l.o.v.e Summer) I'm also really excited for all of the hot bubble baths (with Lush bath bombs obvs), fireworks, twinkly fairy lights, candles and bobble hats!

Love, Catherine | Woodland Cupcakes
Woodland Cupcakes

I wanted to create something super special for my Mum's birthday as I knew she'd only complain if I didn't haha. I came up with these cute woodland themed designs featuring an owl, a butterfly, a snail, a hedgehog, some little mushrooms and a tree stump. Decorations like this take such a long time to create and require the patience of a saint but I was so pleased with the outcome! Which one is your favourite?

Side note: As I now have so many different baking creations each month, I just can't feature every single one in these posts or they'd take over my photo diaries! I don't know if everyone cares for them so make sure you're following me on  Instagram if you'd like to see them all, including the yummiest chocolate Nutella buttercream rosette cake I made this month!

Love, Catherine | Pink Double Pom Pom Bobble Hat
Pink Double Pom Pom Hat

One thing I do love about the colder weather is bringing the bobble hats back out, they are just so cute! I'd seen a few double pom pom hats around but thought I'd hold out in case I found a pink one and good old River Island came to my rescue with the most perfect hat ever! I'd probably fit in amongst the primary school girls when I wear it but nope, I don't even care. (Also showcasing how rubbish my phone's front face camera is :))
