Gerard Cosmetics | Lipstick & Hydra Matte Lipstick Swatches
Swatches L-R: Fairy Godmother, Buttercup, Ballet Slipper, Serenity
After I'd bought and loved one of Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Lipsticks in the shade Serenity, I decided to try a few more things out from the brand, plus I was totally swayed by the fact that I had a 40% off discount code so it seemed too good a deal to pass up! The code I used was GC40, just in case anyone was interested as it might still work.

The Hydra Matte lipsticks are Gerard Cosmetics addition to the Liquid Lipstick trend, and they are pretty impressive! They are opaque and feel creamy to apply and then they dry down to a lovely matte texture. They do stay a little tacky at first but that does go away after about five minutes, so just be careful not to rub your lips together or you might ruin it a little. They are really long lasting, as you'd expect from a liquid lipstick. Serenity is a lovely brown toned pink and Ballet Slipper is a pretty peachy pink and is a new shade to the Hydra Matte collection. I will say though that Ballet Slipper isn't quite as opaque as Serenity and I had to use a little more product to get it totally streak free,

I also got two of the lipsticks in the shades Buttercup and Fairy Godmother. Buttercup is the perfect beige nude colour which actually looks really similar to YSL Beige Tribute lipstick! Fairy Godmother is a beautiful powder pink shade which looks a little deeper in colour in the bullet than it does once applied. The lipsticks themselves feel lovely and creamy, although they do apply quite sheer and it takes me a while to build up the colour to how I would like it, which I don't find ideal but I love the shades.

I really wish I'd tried a couple of the lip glosses too as I've heard lots about them!

Which products would you recommend from Gerard Cosmetics?

Currently Loving | Mauve Nails

I'm the type of person that when I find a product I love, I will reuse and reuse it until my next obsession comes along (and yep, I'm also that person that will repeat a song until I'm so sick of it I can't stand it anymore...). My first nail polish love was Essie Mademoiselle, a natural, manicure pink shade, which I went through countless bottles of, until I found Chanel Beige Rose, a gorgeous peachy pink which I wore for months on end. Although I do love my pinks (hell anyone that reads my blog or follows me on Instagram is bound to know that), I'd been on the lookout for a mauve coloured polish for a while and I found Sally Hansen Mauve Along, which is exactly the shade I was looking for.

Mauve Along is the prettiest shade, not too much purple and not too much mauve but the perfect balance of the two! It's also really opaque and you can get away with using just one coat. I love pairing it with Rimmel Disco Diva on an accent nail, which is a lovely rose gold colour glitter.

What's your favourite nail polish?

A Peek Inside My Muji Drawers | #1

I've had a good portion of my makeup collection stored into Muji drawers for a couple of years now and most of it was ordered into the standard 'foundation', 'blusher', 'lipstick' etc. categories, but it was looking a little messy so I decided to have a little reorganise! As I have lots of makeup with gorgeous packaging, it was only right to make each drawer into some sort of cute little display, (although the downside to that is now a lot of my makeup doesn't fit in and I'm definitely going to have to invest in a few more drawers...) That aside, I thought I'd do a What's In My Muji Drawers type of post and show you a few of my favourite items from each drawer. Little did I know that it was going to take me for-evahh to get through and I've had to split it up into a number of different posts, so here is the first installment!

In case anyone was interested, I bought my drawers direct from the Muji website and I have one drawer with a flip top lid (top drawer) which is really handy, especially if you have a couple bulky items that don't quite fit as it allows for a bit more room. And then I also have two sets of two drawers.

On the top I've popped my Guerlain Snowflake Meteorites as they are too big for the drawers but far too pretty to hide away!

Drawer Number One

Too Faced Love Flush Blush | Justify My Love

If there was an award for cutest blusher packaging to ever exist, this would win hands down (in my eyes anyway). I'm obsessed with the cutesy heart shaped compact, it's almost like the makeup you'd play with as a kid but on a whole other level (not to mention waaaay better quality). Justify My Love is a beautiful bright, barbie style pink which gives a lovely pink flush to the skin. If you couldn't tell, I l.o.v.e this blush. Plus bunnies. Bunnies win.

Too Faced | Boudoir Eyes Eyeshadow Palette

Surprise, another Too Faced product! I adore their packaging and it's even better when the products themselves are brilliant quality too, there hasn't been a Too Faced product that I've tried and not liked! Boudoir Eyes was the first item I'd bought from them and it's a gorgeous palette filled with lots of beautiful cool, purple tones. I love wearing this with my By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Misty Rock!

Etude House Lovely Cookie Blushers | Topshop Good Girl Blush | Sigma For Cute Blush

No one needs any guesses for what my favourite blush colour is! My Etude House Cookie Blushers are too cute, although I think I kinda love the mini powder puffs they come with a teeny tiny bit more than the actual blush itself (cute things just get me!) One of my all time favourites is my Topshop blush in the shade Good Girl, it's the nicest powder pink shade!

Remember to keep an eye out for my next Muji Drawer post where I will take a little look through drawer number two!

12 Free Festive Winter Wallpapers!

After browsing Pinterest for a new Wintery wallpaper for my iPhone, I came across lots that I thought I would share that will see you right through the festive season. The Christmas colours red and green aren't really my thing, so naturally I went with more of a sparkly pink and icy blue theme! Admittedly some of them aren't particularly Wintery because I threw in a few that you could use all year round too, hope you like them!

Winter Wonders

Winter is officially in full swing, so I thought it was about time I shared some of my favourite products during these chilly (and seriously drizzly) Winter months!

The White Company | Winter Candle

After my beloved Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir candle ran out (sob), I took to The White Company to find a similar Wintery scented replacement. The White Company do actually sell a candle called Pomegranate which smells almost exactly the same as the Jo Malone version (except for half the price!) and whilst I was tempted to get that one, I decided on the Winter candle instead. It has notes of cinnamon, clove and fresh orange which smells gorgeous like you've just stepped into a Christmas log cabin! It has just the right amount of spice and is really warming - perfect for Winter time!

Guerlain | Snowflake Meteorites

Probably the most Wintery themed makeup product ever? The star product from Guerlain's holiday collection has to be the Flocons Enchantes Meteorites, which is lots of gorgeous shimmery pearls and handcrafted pearls shaped into little star/snowflake shapes and all packaged into a little snowglobe - adorable. I have already featured them on my blog but something as pretty as these just have to be featured again. (Full review here.)

Jurlique | Rose Hand Cream

I was lucky enough to be gifted lots of lovely things from Jurlique a month or so ago, and one product I've especially been loving is the Rose Hand Cream. I don't often use or need hand cream during the summer months, but when it comes to Winter time a good hand cream can become an essential! This one feels lovely and silky and soaks in quickly, plus the rose scent smells divine.

YSL | Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick | #10 Beige Tribute

When it comes to lip products, I definitely steer more towards all the nude shades, especially during Winter time. My favourite at the moment is Beige Tribute from YSL which is a lovely beige nude with a hint of cool toned pink. It's really wearable and classy, like a grown up nude shade! (Full review here.)

What are your Winter faves?
