Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks

L-R: Prom Night, Drug Lord, Doll Parts
Limited Edition Christmas 2015
L-R: Drug Lord, Doll Parts
Swatches L-R: Prom Night, Doll Parts, Drug Lord, Doll Parts & Drug Lord Mixed

After all this hype about liquid lipsticks, I thought it was finally time I jumped on the bandwagon and tried some myself. I've had the Anastasia Beverly Hills and Kat Von D version on my wishlist for ages but they're so damn hard to get hold of in the UK! Luckily I managed to track down a few of the Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks after being persuaded by the gorgeous white and rose gold packaging for Christmas!

I bought two of the limited edition holiday lipsticks, in the shades Doll Parts and Drug Lord and I also got Prom Night which is a permanent shade. Doll Parts is a pretty brown toned pink, however when on my lips it does pull quite berry toned, I think the colour is really similar to Mac Soar. There's no other way to describe Drug Lord other than a chalk white, on it's own it looks so odd like you've experimented with a pot of tip-ex (lol). The reason I bought this one is because it's a great one to mix with other shade to create different colours, it looks so nice when mixed with Doll Parts! The last shade is Prom Night which is a super vibrant hot pink! All of the shades are so opaque and give a streak free application.

I love the applicator which is tilted so it makes it really easy to get a nice clean shape. They apply like a dream and feel so creamy and lovely but then they dry down pretty quickly into an ultra matte texture, which surprisingly doesn't feel drying or uncomfortable to wear during the day. What I found amazing was how long they lasted! I've worn this for a good eight hours and even eaten in-between and it's still looked pretty perfect, although a minor touch up was needed. They can be a bit of a pain to remove, but I guess it just proves how long lasting they are!

What are your favourite liquid lipsticks?

Recent Beauty Purchases

So I thought I was having a relatively restrained November, until I put all my new beauty purchases together and realised that actually that was very much not the case. Yup, I'm guilty of buying yet again more makeup! I would pinky promise that it won't ever happen again, but I would definitely end up breaking that promise and that just wouldn't be fair on any of us...

Becca | Shimmering Skin Perfector, Moonstone

I'd had this particular highlight on my wishlist for a while, and I can safely say I'm holding NikkieTutorials responsible for this one! She uses Moonstone a lot in her YouTube videos and it just looks so stunning and like the perfect shade for my skintone! It's a gorgeous pearly shade with a hint of pale gold to it and it is seriously pigmented so you really don't need to use much. I'm loving it so far and it's perfect for when I want something a little more intense than my usual go-to Mac Lightscapade.

Soap & Glory | One Heck Of A Blot, Primer

I spotted Soap & Glory's new primer in Boots whilst I was buying backups of a few things I use frequently (anyone else have to have backups?!). One Heck Of A Blot claims to be the 'secret to shine-free skin' and as I have an oily skintype it was something I needed to try out, plus everything was 3 for 2 so that basically made my decision for me! I've used this for the past week so far and I honestly think it's an amazing product, it really does help to mattify my skin and create a great base for foundation. It's become my new favourite!

Estee Lauder | Double Wear, Foundation

I had previously sworn off this foundation for the fact that it is super full coverage and can be pretty cakey if you wear too much. However, since getting a new job where I knew I wouldn't be able to just whip my compact powder out and blot my face whenever I wanted, I needed something that would last during the entire day. Double Wear is the only foundation that I can wear that will genuinely last all day and still look presentable even when I haven't had a chance to touch up or powder my face! I only apply it in small amounts, and blend it using the Real Techniques Sponge so that it looks seamless and not too much. It's basically flawless skin in a bottle, but hey I'm pretty late to the bandwagon so you're probably very much aware!

Nars | Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base

This one is actually a much needed repurchase! I'd had my previous tube of this miracle stuff for almost a year, which is pretty amazing but it was finally time to buy another! This Nars eyeshadow primer is the only primer I've tried which actually keeps my eyeshadow intact and creaseless all day. If you've not tried this one, I'd highly recommend that you do! Full review here.

Anastasia Beverly Hills | Illuminator, Starlight

And lastly, the star product, being one of Anastasia Beverly Hills new Illuminators in the shade Starlight. Once I'd heard about these new releases (and seen them about a million times on Instagram) I instantly joined in on the fangirling. I was all heart-eyed over Starlight, but it had been sold out online for a while so when I saw it was back in stock on Cult Beauty I quickly nabbed it! I adore the gorgeous textured design of the highlight and it's such a pretty frosty, ivory shade which looks beautiful on pale skintones.

What do you think of my purchases?

Guerlain Meteorites Flocons Enchantes (Enchanted Snowflakes)

My October makeup spending ban is officially over, (thank the lord) and my boyfriend scored major points by treating me to none other than the prettiest Limited Edition Meteorites from Guerlain! As part of their 2015 holiday collection, Guerlain released a special version of their ever popular Meterorites, titled the Flocons Enchantes that I believe translates to 'Enchanted Snowflakes' which has just gotta be the dreamiest name going!

They contain the same gorgeous pearls as the usual Meteorites, but have also got the addition of adorable little iridescent pearls, crafted to look like snowflakes (if ever there was a time for the heart eyed emoji, it would be now). Swirled together and dusted over your face, the meteorites give you a gorgeous luminosity, perfect for giving a subtle glow to dull, Winter skin.

The pearls and snowflakes are housed in stunning white and gold packaging which looks like a little snowglobe! It one of those products that you really need to see in real life to capture just how beautiful the whole product and packaging is. And the cherry on the top; it also comes with a fluffy powder puff with a pretty gold bow and can be used to apply the product if you wish!

It's basically Christmas wrapped up in the most luxurious looking snowglobe, and I'm so glad I'm managed to get my hands on it! Priced at £50, they definitely aren't the most affordable but I think they make for the most perfect, special gift this Christmas!

What do you think?
