How I Whitened My Teeth At Home

Smile Brilliant Professional Teeth Whitening Kit

I've never whitened my teeth before and to be honest they were more on the dull yellow side than sparkly white, so when I was kindly offered to try out a professional teeth whitening kit from Smile Brilliant I was definitely all for it. It's the exact same whitening treatment that you would get at a dentist, except you can cut out the hassle of separate trips back and forth to the dentist, which means that you can do it all in the comfort of your own home and in your own time (and yes that means I totally did it sat on my bed watching Netflix, score!). It will also cost you a fraction of the price that you would pay your dentist for doing the exact same thing! They arranged to send me a kit out and even though they are based in the U.S, it arrived within a week, and all packaged in a professional, sleek black box.

Making the Impressions:
Teeth Whitening Impression Matierial

To start off you have to make the teeth impressions so that your custom fitted trays can be made to the perfect fit for you. You are given white Catalyst Paste and blue Base Paste that you mix together to form a putty, which should take no longer than 60 seconds. When it has turned a solid blue colour, you fit it onto the teeth molds, which are provided, and pop it into your mouth for 2 minutes. Once you have removed the impressions, you leave them in the molds to dry for 30 minutes, rinse them under cool water and simply ship them back in the padded envelope which is provided and already addressed for you.

You get given instructions on how to do this so it's really easy! The good thing is that you're given three sets of both the Catalyst and Base Pastes so that you have an extra one just in case you mess up. It's really simple to do so you probably won't need to use them (I didn't), but it's nice to know you have some spare just in case you do!

Whitening Teeth:
Teeth Whitening Gel and Desensitizing Gel syringes

When they receive your impressions, they hand craft your very own set of custom fitted trays and ship them back to you in a cute little black container. Once they arrive you can actually start the whitening process!

To whiten your teeth you must make sure that your teeth are clean and as dry as you can get them. Take the Teeth Whitening Gel (green syringe) and apply a small line along the trays and pop them in for anything between 15 minutes to 3 hours, obviously the longer you leave it the quicker you will see results, I left mine in from around 2-3 hours. You can repeat the whitening process every day if you want to, but I did it only twice each week as I felt I needed a small break in between, as my teeth are more on the sensitive side.

If your teeth are also a little sensitive like mine, don't fear as Desensitizing gel is also available (purple syringe)! You apply this to your trays the same way you would the whitening gel but leave it in for 5-15 minutes. I will say though that I was a little bit confused as to whether I was supposed to use it prior to whitening my teeth or afterwards, as I'd seen people using it both ways in tutorials I had watched. I did experience a little sensitivity, but it was nothing that didn't go away within a day and the sensitivity was much less when I had used the desensitizing gel afterwards instead of beforehand.

I was given three syringes of Teeth Whitening Gel and three syringes of Desensitizing Gel and each syringe should last between 3-5 uses each time. So that's about 15 separate times you can whiten your teeth, which means you get loads of product for the price so it's well worth the money. I'm sure I'll have lots left over that I can keep should I feel they need going over again in the future.

Results so far:
White Teeth

And this is the results so far! I've whitened them about five times and I'm so impressed with the results already. I was shocked at how much of a difference it made just after the first use, which made me regret not taking a good before picture to show you as there is such a difference in colour (I don't often smile with my teeth in photos). I'm really pleased with them though and they're well on their way to becoming pearly white!

I would highly recommend Smile Brilliant if you are interested in whitening your teeth as they make the whole process so easy for you and they are really quick to answer any questions you may have.                                                                      What do you think?

New In | Zoella Beauty: Tutti Fruity Collection

Zoella beauty, tutti fruity collection, kissy missy lip balm, scrubbing me softly smoothing body scrub, foam sweet foam cleansing shower gel, candy cream softening body lotion, fresh fizz fragranced bath fizzer

As soon as I heard about Youtube Queen Zoella releasing more products to her beauty range, I got a little excited especially once I saw how utterly adorable the packaging is! Her new collection has a Tutti Fruity fragrance to it but thankfully it isn't sickly sweet and over the top, but instead more of a delicate and fresh scent, perfect for Summer time! I bought almost all of the new products, minus the Spritz and the makeup bag, as they're all so affordable, if you were to buy the whole new line it would only cost a bargain £37.50!

Zoella Beauty, tuttit fruity collection, fresh fizz fragranced bath fizzer, foam sweet foam cleansing shower gel

Foam Sweet Foam | Cleansing Shower Gel | £3.50 | Link

Described as a foaming gel that helps to soften and soothe the skin with extracts of Acai and Blueberry, Foam Sweet Foam is a lovely addition to my shower gel collection. It certainly foams up really well, smells delicious and I love the pink pearlised look of the actual gel itself, so pretty!

Fresh Fizz | Fragranced Bath Fizzer | £5 | Link

I love that this comes in a bar that you can break blocks off of, which means you can use as little or as much as you want it one go! It's a really good idea if you'd like to hang onto it for a bit longer than you would a traditional bath bomb that disappears within one use! It's supposed to transform your bath into a fragrant, fruity soak and although I'm yet to break into mine yet, I can't wait to try it out!

Zoella beauty, tuttit fruity collection, candy cream softening body lotion, scrubbing me softly smoothing body scrub

Candy Cream | Softening Body Lotion | £5 | Link

This body lotion contains extracts of Acai and Blueberry and bursting beads which promise to pamper and protectm your skin. Another one that leaves you smelling amazing and I love that it sinks into the skins quickly aswell whilst also being nourishing at the same time.

Scrubbing Me Softly | Smoothing Body Scrub | £7 | Link

Another one containing Acai and Blueberry extracts and also has cocoa butter to condition the skin. It is a sugar scrub as opposed to a salt scrub, so it is more delicate on the skin, which initially put me off of the product before I'd tried it as I personally like scrubs that are really invigorating and exfoliating. However, it's not as useless as I thought it would be and it's actually a really great scrub. I've used loads of it already and I actually prefer it to the Soap & Glory scrub that I was using before it.

Zoella beauty, tutti fruity collection, kissy missy lip balm

Kissy Missy | Lip Balm | £3 | Link

Isn't Kissy Missy just the most adorable and kitsch name for a lip balm?! I'm frankly baffled as to how no one thought of using it before!  It also feels lovely and soft on the lips but I do find it takes a while to build up as the product is quite hard to begin with. I really like that it has a colour to it though which is such a pretty wash of pink, almost Barbie-esque but a little sheerer.

I'm really impressed with the new range and they will definitely look pretty sat in my bathroom!

Have you tried any of Zoella's Tutti Fruity Collection?

The High End Beauty Products Worth The Splurge

It's no word of a lie that when it comes to makeup I am a total snob! I just love high end makeup far too much for my own good to the point where about 90% of my collection is dedicated to it. I'm just obsessed with luxurious, pretty packaging and I trust that most of the time if you spend more on a product, then you should get better quality makeup with kinder ingredients. The only downfall to highend makeup, is the risk you take in parting ways with your hard earned cash, for something that although may look pretty on your dressing table, might not perhaps cooperate quite so well on your face which can be really disappointing. So I thought I'd put together a little post to show you the high end products that I would recommend and that I think are totally worth the splurge!

I'm gonna go ahead and say that these Hourglass blushers are my favourite that I own. I just cannot fault them as the colours are all beautiful and the quality is like no other. Each blush shade is mixed with one of their Ambient Lighting Powders which creates a perfect, softly lit blush that blends seamlessly onto the skin. To begin with I bought a solo blush in the shade Dim Infusion, priced at £28which is a lovely, natural looking, light peach colour and as much as I adore the shade it was the formula that I fell in love with. Because I loved my solo blush so much, I also purchased the Ambient Lighting Blush Palette which contains three mini shades and priced at £56 is my most expensive makeup product to date. I bought the palette on the John Lewis website, here, and at the moment they are still in stock. It was limited edition though and can be hard to find as it goes out of stock quickly, so be speedy if you're thinking about purchasing one, you won't regret it!

The Ombre Blackstars are cream eyeshadows in a twist up, stick format which come in a range of stunning shades. I have Frozen Quartz which is a gorgeous frosty champagne pink and Misty Rock which is a beautiful taupey, purple that has the nicest shimmer running throughout it. What makes these especially great, and worth their £29 each price tag, is that the formula is excellent. To begin with they are smooth to apply and really easy to blend, but once they have set they do not budge all day! With any other eyeshadow I will use my Nars primer without fail as it will crease otherwise, however with the Ombre Blackstars I can skip the primer and they will still look flawless by the end of the day. They are really quick to use as you can swipe them across your lid, blend it out a little with a fluffy brush and you're done! Despite being so long lasting, they do come off easily with makeup remover so you don't have to worry about dreaded panda eyes. I've got my eye on Blond Opal next!

Soft & Gentle is a gorgeous golden, champagne highlight which I think everyone in the blogging world either already owns or wants. I put off purchasing it for ages as it is £23, but as soon as I did I was instantly wowed at how beautiful it is and wished I'd had the guts to buy it sooner. I've had mine for almost a year now and although I don't use it every day, it is one of my most used highlights and it's barely even got a dip in the product. So at least you know that if you buy it you will definitely get your moneys worth out of it.
I'm also obsessed with the shade Lightscapade but chose to include Soft & Gentle as it's one that would look gorgeous on most skintones! Keep a lookout on my blog for a comparison post between the two though!

If there was an award for the prettiest, most luxurious looking lipstick tube the YSL Rouge Volupte lipsticks would win hands down. But drool worthy packaging doesn't mean anything if the actual product is a bit of a let down, and fortunately judging by the fact that they've made this post, these are brilliant quality lipsticks. The formula is really smooth and creamy and they leave a nice shine but aren't glossy. I barely have to use two swipes of it as it is so pigmented which is surprising for such a creamy lipstick. The shade I have here is No 1. Nude Beige which is a gorgeous, wearable, nude pink. At £26 they are for sure an indulgent product but in terms of formulation and packaging they aren't going to disappoint!

As I have oily skin I'm constantly on the lookout for long lasting makeup products and had been intrigued by the All Nighter setting spray for ages. I wasn't really expecting much to be honest so I only bought the 30ml travel size version which is £9, and since trying it I'm kicking myself that I didn't just buy the full size, which is £21 for 118ml. This stuff is literally amazing and I've noticed a huge difference in the longevity of my makeup! It's a game changer if you have oily skin and I now don't go a day without this, even if you don't have oily skin it's great for those times when you need your makeup to stay flawless all day if you have a special occasion or something! And plus when the travel size is only £9 it's a great way to try it out without blowing all your budget on the full size straight away.

My last product that I'm urging you to splurge on is the By Terry Baume De Rose, which even though is an eye-watering £39 it will be the best and only lip balm you'll ever need. It's super nourishing as it's packed with Rose Flower Essential Wax and Pastel Oil to boost cell renewal, Shea Butter to heal and hydrate and Vitamin E to protect. The texture is lovely and creamy on the lips and it has a delicate rose scent which is gorgeous. It's such a dream and my lips always feel so plump and smooth after I've used it!

Do you have any high end recommendations?

MAC Lipstick Collection with Swatches

Mac lipstick collection, dreaminess, flair for finery, creme cup, lovelorn, coral bliss, ruby woo, pure zen, please me, patisserie, velvet teddy

Mac lipsticks are probably the most lusted after in the blogging world as there as so many different shades and finishes to choose from that your collection will just never be complete, no matter how many you add! My first ever Mac lipstick was Creme Cup, which is the culprit that kick-started my little addiction as I just fell in love with it. I love that all the lipsticks are divided into categories depending on the finish it has and that each lipstick has it own cute name. Plus the signature vanilla scent is so delicious and is one of the reasons that they are one of my favourite brands of lipstick to buy!

I thought it was about time I shared my little collection of Mac lipsticks as I love reading these kind of posts and I also now that I have ten I think it makes for more of a worthwhile post (I used to have 15 but sold Honeylove, Shy Girl, Blankety, Hue and Rebel purely as they didn't get enough love from me!)

Mac lipstick collection, nudes, flair for finer, creme cup, pure zen, patisserie, velvet teddy
L-R: Flair for Finery, Creme Cup, Pure Zen, Patisserie, Velvet Teddy

Flair for FineryLustre (Limited Edition)
This one was from the limited edition Divine Night Collection and I adore the gorgeous gold packaging! The shade is one of the palest that I own and it's a cool pink nude shade. On it's own it a little pale for me but I love using it over the top of slighter darker shades!

Creme CupCremesheen
As I said earlier, this was the first shade of lipstick I'd ever bought from Mac and I'm currently working my way through my second tube. I'd say it the perfect colour to choose if you're a Mac lipstick newbie! It's the prettiest baby pink nude that looks gorgeous with either natural makeup or a full on smokey eye. At the moment I'm loving wearing this over the top of Mac Dervish lip liner or Bobbi Brown Ballet Pink lip liner!

Pure ZenCremesheen
This one is also another one that I got through a whole tube of and I'm now on my second! It's a lovely peachy nude that has enough warmth to it that it doesn't wash me out. It's really similar to Shy Girl except a little less peach and more nude. Back in 2014, this was my go-to lip colour and I barely reached for anything else as I loved it so much, I don't reach for it as much but it's still a firm favourite!

This one is the perfect 'your lips but better' shade. It's a pretty neutral nude pink colour which suits my natural lip shade almost exactly, so it's great for those natural but polished makeup days!

Velvet TeddyMatte
Probably the most coveted lip shade right now thanks to the queen of pouty lips, Kylie Jenner. This one is a lovely brown toned nude which just scream 90s supermodel! Pair it with Whirl lip liner and you really cannot go wrong.

Mac lipstick collection, pinks, lovelorn, please me, dreaminess
L-R: Lovelorn, Please Me, Dreaminess

Lovelorn, Lustre
This one is the second Mac lipstick I ever bought, (hence it's battered state). It's a beautiful pink that sits somewhere in between a neutral pink and a bright pink, it's perfect for adding a pop of pink to your makeup look without going overboard.

Please MeMatte
This is the most recent addition to my collection and I'm completely in love so far! It's a gorgeous muted Barbie pink type of shade and even though it's matte it feels lovely and comfortable to wear and is still super long lasting!

DreaminessMineralize Rich
This one is part of the Mineralize Rich collection which is why the packaging is different, but don't fear, I do believe it is a permanent shade! It's a beautiful lilac toned baby pink shade which is kind of similar to Creme Cup but more pink and a bit cooler in tone. Think Mac Snob but much more wearable! (Full review here).

Mac lipstick collection, corals and reds, coral bliss, ruby woo
L-R: Coral Bliss, Ruby Woo

Coral BlissCremesheen
This is a shade I adore when it's summer time as it seems to make you look about 1000x more summery! It's a beautiful soft coral shade and as I'm not a huge lover of bright lipsticks, this one is perfect for me as it gives a pop of colour without being too much!

Ruby WooRetro Matte
Probably the most popular shade of red that Mac do but also the most drying! It's the perfect vivid, blue toned red (the type that will make your teeth look super white). I haven't used this one much yet as I just haven't found the right occasion to wear it, but I'm thinking it will look gorgeous around Christmas time!

Bobbi Brown Splurge

Oops, it looks like my makeup obsession has put me and my bank balance on bad terms again and this time it was Bobbi Brown that led me astray. Funnily enough whilst I was trying to pay for this lot, my debit card embarrassingly decided to hide from me for a good 15 minutes, until I eventually found the damn thing crammed into a little crevice in my purse. I think it was a sign that I really shouldn't have splurged but did I listen?! Err...Nope. Not in the slightest.

Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light Bisque
I finally caved and picked up the Corrector after it had been on my wishlist for literally about 3 years and I've heard nothing but good things about how well it disguises those dreaded undereye circles. I got the shade Light Bisque which the lovely sales assistant told me would be good if I had more blue toned dark circles (as opposed to purple, which I would've then needed the shade Peach). I've only used it a couple of times so far but I can tell you it's a bloody good product and is probably the best concealer I've tried for cancelling out the discolouration! I like to pop a little of my Mac Prep + Prime Highlighter in Light Boost on afterwards and no one would ever know about my late night Netflix escapades.

Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Golden Pink
Now this is actually what I'd gone in to purchase (and as usual I couldn't come away with just one thing, it's just near impossible). I'd swatched the shade Golden Pink in a store a few days before and it was so pretty that I just had to go back and buy it. It's a gorgeous rose gold type of colour and I can't wait to try it out!

Lip Pencil in Ballet Pink
The last item I got was a total Tanya Burr inspired product, I think she featured it in a video of hers and it sounded perfect. It's a really pretty polished pink colour which I think looks like a mixture between Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk and Mac Subculture! It's lovely and creamy to apply but also has really great staying power and I've literally worn it every day since I got it! Plus I had no idea it comes with a little sharpener as well which I had no idea about (bonus points).

What are your favourite Bobbi Brown products?
