By Terry's Baume De Rose lip balm has been on my wishlist for the longest time and finally it is mine! Unless you are completely makeup and beauty obsessed like moi here, then you may think I'm absolutely absurd for wanting a lip balm that costs a whopping £39...yes, I will hold my head in shame because you did read right. Who knows, maybe I am totally insane but I can tell you now that this is the best lip balm I've ever tried!
If you've been reading my blog from the beginning (high five to you troopers if there are any of you out there), then you may have heard me bang on a couple times about my love for the Dior Creme De Rose lip balm and my utter devastation that it was discontinued in the UK. Ever since I haven't found anything to better it, not Korres, Nuxe, EOS, Lanolips etc. the list goes on. But I have totally found a winner with the Baume De Rose and I think it might even beat it!
Packed with super nourishing, fancy ingredients, it has Rose Flower Essential Wax and Pastel Oil to boost cell renewal, Shea Butter to heal and hydrate and Vitamin E to protect. The texture is like utter heaven to wear, it's so lovely and creamy on the lips but not too thick that it's sticky and not too thin that it's slippery like Vaseline. A little goes a long way so I don't feel like I have to go overboard with it and it lasts a good while on the lips too, I personally hate those lip balms that sink in within about 10 minutes of applying them and then they feel dry again!
It has the most divine rose scent that is lovely and delicate and not too overpowering which is nice. It's not totally clear in colour like some lip balms, but is actually a pretty, sheer, milky pink shade. The texture, scent and colour is basically the exact same as the Dior Creme De Rose, so obviously when I first tried it out I was pretty excited that I'd finally found a match.
In terms of how well it moistures is where it really exceeds any lip balm I've tried before, even Dior. The first time I used this, my lips hadn't been in the worst chapped state ever but they had taken a bit of a beating from wearing a matte lipstick all day. I popped a bit on before bed and when I woke up I was genuinely shocked at how plump and smooth my lips were. At first I was a bit confused as to why they looked in such good condition (morning zombie brain), until I suddenly remembered that I'd used the By Terry lip balm the night before and it all made sense. I was so pleased that it genuinely works wonders!
If you ever feel like splurging on an expensive lip balm I would highly recommend this one. It even has an SPF of 15 to provide your lips with even more protection if I hadn't given you enough reasons to buy it already. It is pure luxury in a jar, and it actually works!
Have you tried the Baume De Rose?
