Thank the lord we have finally escaped Winter, I don't think I've ever been so glad to see Spring in my life, freezing cold Uni rooms and walking back from lectures in the dark are so not the one. So as you may have guessed this post is all about the products that have been my favourites throughout the month of March!
Clarins Instant Lip Balm Perfector
I already adore the Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors from Clarins so when I heard that they were expanding the range into the form of six beautifully packed lip balms, of course I had to get one didn't I! I chose the shade 'My Pink' which is the Ph reactive version so it reacts to the acidity levels in your lips and therefore looks a little different on everyone. On me it goes a pretty pink shade which is fairly similar to my natural lip shade but just a bit brighter. It's feels lovely and moisturising on the lips and also has the same yummy scent that the glosses have which reminds me of angel cake!
Lauren's Way Self Tan Bronzing Lotion*
I was kindly sent this item to review and I was really excited to receive it as I'd heard lots of good things about the brand. I love the results it gives so much that it made my favourites post! I'm pretty pale (Mac NC15 kind of pale) and it gives a me lovely bronzed tan like I've just been sunning it up in Santorini for two weeks, no scary orange Wotsit colour in sight woo hoo! One of my pet peeves with fake tan is the gross stale biscuit smell some have and what surprised me the most with this one is the sweet, fresh scent it has, I was so surprised! I can't wait to get more use out of it in the Summer time to fake that gorgeous holiday glow.
By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Frozen Quartz
This may come as a shock but I haven't used my beloved Urban Decay Naked palette all month!! I do love that palette to death but I've really been trying to get more use out of all my other eyeshadows, I have so many lovely colours it would be a waste to see them all wither away at the back of my makeup drawers. I saw Suzie from Hello October use this Ombre Blackstar in the shade Frozen Quartz in an everyday makeup tutorial and it looked so pretty on her that I decided to whip it back out again. It's a gorgeous, shimmery, pearly pink shade and the formula stays put all day it's incredible. I've written a full review here along with Misty Rock if you'd like to have a read!
Mac Eyeshadow Quad
I've also gotten major use out of my little Mac quad and the shades I have in this palette are Blanc Type, Charcoal Brown, Naked Lunch and All That Glitters. I already get good use out of Blanc Type every single day as a matte brow bone highlight, but I've also been loving it all over the lid with Charcoal Brown in the crease for a defined, contoured eye look. Naked Lunch has been the perfect substitute for Urban Decay's Sin, although not quite as intense, but still a lovely cool toned champagne pink shade. All That Glitters is the only one I haven't used as I'm not sure I really like it that much. I currently have a little collection of six Mac eyeshadows and I'm planning on doing a more detailed blog post all about them!
Maybelline Color Drama Velvet Lip Pencil
The last beauty product is this lovely lip pencil from Maybelline in the shade Nude Perfection. I'm quite late on the bandwagon with these but I decided to buy one whilst it was on offer for about £2.50 and I'm so glad I did. The colour is that darker 90's style nude shade and is really similar to the ever coveted Kylie Jenner lip colour. The formula is matte but velvety and smooth and last ages on the lips, although I do find that it can be quite drying but at this price who cares!
What have you been loving throughout March?
